21 March marks World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), a day observed by the United Nations to raise awareness of Down Syndrome globally. As part of this initiative, Siena College staff and students wore brightly coloured socks to commemorate WDSD. Did you know that people with Down Syndrome have three copies of their Chromosome 21? Socks were also chosen because the karyotype of DS chromosomes actually looks like mismatched socks!
